Description

I adore the look of lace shawls that other knitters create, but not very keen of knitting them myself simply because of the endless repetition of hundreds of rows.
However, I desperately needed one for my friends’ Polish-Indian wedding. And I needed it fast :)
In order to escape the repeated rows I have decided to knit a stole from top to bottom with a subtle lace edging. Therefore, Angarika stole came to life…
The charted design of this stole is very easy to follow, and can be knit up with nearly any lace weight yarn and appropriate needle size.

The pattern contains a row by row written instruction of the Lace chart pattern.
It was made by Hala and I am highly thankful to her!!!

Materials:

  • 850 yards (780 meters) of lace weight yarn – sample is made with JaggerSpun Zephyr Wool-Silk 2/18; 50% Silk 50% Merino (630 yards -576 meters in 57 grams -2.01 ounces).
  • US 2½ - 3 mm 60” (150cm) circular needles or size to get the look you like 
  • US 8 - 5.0 mm 60” (150cm) circular needles
  • 2 stitch markers

One size:

Finished measurements: 23” (57½cm) wide and 68” (170cm) long - after blocking.

Gauge:

5 sts and 10 rows per 1” (2½cm) with US 2½ - 3 mm needles in Stockinette stitch after blocking.
In lace knitting it is not important to get the exact gauge, but rather to get the look you like with your yarn
