Ink - digital knitting pattern - PDF
“Ink” is the perfect cardigan to slip on when the balmy days of summer transition to the chilly days of autumn. Named for the color of the yarn, it is also a reminder that autumn brings with it the beginning of a new school year. Knitted in fingering yarn and reverse stocking stitch from the collar down, the cables on the garment bring to mind the V’s of birds flying south for the winter.

Angarika Stole - digital knitting pattern - PDF
I adore the look of lace shawls that other knitters create, but not very keen of knitting them myself simply because of the endless repetition of hundreds of rows.
However, I desperately needed one for my friends’ Polish-Indian wedding. And I needed it fast :)
In order to escape the repeated rows I have decided to knit a stole from top to bottom with a subtle lace edging. Therefore, Angarika stole came to life…
The charted design of this stole is very easy to follow, and can be knit up with nearly any lace weight yarn and appropriate needle size.
The pattern contains a row by row written instruction of the Lace chart pattern.
It was made by Hala and I am highly thankful to her!!!

Leizu - digital knitting pattern - PDF
“Leizu” was inspired by a ready-to-wear sweater seen in an online shop. While that sweater was a simple two-color brioche pullover, I wanted to design something similar, but without the heaviness of brioche fabric, something with the look of brioche, but actually much lighter. Gorgeous Julie Asselin Leizu DK seemed just the right material to achieve this!
“Leizu” is knit top-down and seamless featuring neckline and bottom back shaping with short rows. The sweater uses two colors, starting with a contrasting color. The entire body and raglan sleeves are worked with the main color in stockinette with wide ribbed panels at the sides. The contrasting color is added in again after body and sleeves have been completed to work both torso and sleeve ribbing with two colors. It is not brioche, but actually corrugated ribbing! (A few links to helpful technique videos are added for your convenience.)
Materials: * Julie Asselin Leizu DK (90% Merino, 10% Silk): 115g/ 260 yards [238 meters]. The sample is made with colorways “Birch” (MC) and “Elephant” (CC).

Crossing Over - digital knitting pattern - PDF
After having made “Naturally Yours” last year in collaboration with De Rerum Natura, I decided to revisit this lovely and versatile yarn and design another open front cardigan (…my favorite type of sweater!).
“Crossing over” is worked top down and seamless (…my favorite construction method for sweaters!), starting from the wide collar, followed by the yoke and the body.
The back in an easy to knit half brioche stitch pattern features an interesting shaping detail based on an updated version of the shaping used in my “Wien” pullover, with a larger backcrossing that moves first “up” and then “down”, where in “Wien” it meandered only in one direction.
This comfortable and laid-back cardigan will add interest to any casual outfit!
Materials:
* De Rerum Natura Gilliatt (100% Merino): 100g/ 273 yards [250 meters]; 4 (5, 5, 5, [6, 6], 7, 7, 7) skeins or approx. 1000 (1100, 1200, 1300, [1420, 1540], 1660, 1780, 1900) yards [915 (1005, 1100, 1190, [1300, 1410], 1520, 1630, 1740) meters] of Worsted weight yarn that knits up to gauge.
The sample is knit in colorway "Granit".

Deep Feelings - digital knitting pattern - PDF
Open front cardigans are my favorite sweater type because you can put them on in a jiffy, and you look so much more approachable than when all buttoned up!
This one (worked top-down in raglan construction – of course seamless, as always) has an interesting textured pattern on the sleeves and the back part of the wide hem. The hem as well as the cuffs are set off by an elegant chained row (easy to make with a detailed picture tutorial), and last, but not least, there are pockets hidden in the hem – just what you need to feel relaxed, but still well dressed!
Materials:
* Dream in Color Everlasting DK (100% Merino): 100g/ 275 yards (251 meters); 4 (4, 5, [5, 5, 6], 6, 7, 7) skeins or approx. 950 (1050, 1150, [1250, 1350, 1460], 1570, 1680, 1800) yards [868 (960, 1051, [1143, 1235, 1335], 1435, 1536, 1645) meters] of any DK weight yarn that knits up to gauge = Main Yarn.

Naturally Yours - digital knitting pattern - PDF
“Naturally Yours” is worked seamlessly top-down from the collar to the hem in raglan construction with accented raglan lines, asymmetric sleeve cables and A-line shaped fronts that overlap at the bottom. Short rows slightly elongate the rounded back in comparison to the fronts, creating just the right “natural shape” for a comfortable fit. Waist shaping on the back is already accounted for in the cable panel, which is fully charted and written out at the same time. Figure in convenient pockets, hidden in the wide hem, and an interesting textured stitch pattern, featuring reverse stockinette and half cardigan stitch as well as intricate cables cleverly incorporated into the overall construction, and you already know that this garment is practically “Naturally Yours” even before you start knitting it!

Positive Thoughts - digital knitting pattern - PDF
„Positive Thoughts” combines the looks of a traditional grandfather cardigan with today’s advanced methods of seamless knitting for a classical garment with modern fit, minus the hassle and discomfort of the bulky seams normally associated with heavier yarn weights!
This cardigan is worked top down with set-in sleeves, starting at the back, followed by both fronts and parts joined after the armholes, with button bands featuring a one-row buttonhole.
The cable pattern reminiscent of wheat sheaves is fully charted for individual sizes. With a small amount of positive ease already incorporated in the pattern, it’s comfy and literally predestined to become your next favorite Christmas sweater, especially when worked in Green!

Bly - digital knitting pattern - PDF
Bly shawl’s color scheme and stitch pattern are reminiscent of the dark, gothic, and mysterious atmosphere of the Netflix series “The Haunting of the Bly Manor”, which I watched while thinking up this design – thus the name! The stitch pattern (which is from an old book) had been earlier mentioned on Instagram, and I thought it would be nice to use in a shawl.
The shawl is constructed similarly to “Shelliana”, with increases along the side, and a few short rows to ensure it stays put while exploring the unknown of vast and creepy old manors, or just walking within the predictably secure confines of your own house.

Cordial Embraces - digital knitting pattern - PDF

Its wide border in Japanese lace style with a traditional leaf garland pattern is worked together with the reverse stockinette stitch body and included both charted and as written-out row-by-row description. Short row shaping creates a slight curvature so the shawl stays put.

Sea Sounds - digital knitting pattern - PDF
Are you one of those knitters who always have two projects running – a mindless one to take along and a more complicated one for the precious moments of uninterrupted knitting time?
With this top down half circle shawl, you can have both in one: easy garter stitch parts are combined with more complicated lace sections in two different stitch patterns, so you always have something to work on.
The lace patterns are both fully written out and charted.
While the original uses three maritime-themed colors in muted shades, you may want to experiment with combining and arranging more and brighter colors into your very personal rendering of the Sea Sounds concert.
The result will be a generously sized shawl to wrap yourself in comfort, at the sea or inland.
Materials:
* Filcolana Arwetta Classic (80% Merino, 20% Nylon): 50g/ 230 yards [210 meters].
You will need 3 colors: approx. 460 yards (420 meters) in Color 1 (C1), approx. 180 yards (160 meters) in Color 2 (C2) and approx. 430 yards (390 meters) in Color 3 (C3) of any fingering weight yarn that knits up to gauge.
The sample is made with colors: 990 (C1), 143 (C2), and 954 (C3).

Shelliana - digital knitting pattern - PDF
“Shelliana” is an asymmetrical triangular shawl worked on the bias in a shell-like pattern inspired by entrelac and brioche, but created entirely with twisted stitches.
Started by casting on 5 stitches at the tip of the triangle, it gains width through increases and additional pattern repeats, with occasional short rows cleverly hidden in the textured pattern, which introduce a slight curvature in the top edge of the triangle for a convenient shape that stays safely put on the shoulders.
With its stitch pattern flowing along in soft waves, it complements a variety of outfit styles from casual to festive, and can be paired with jeans as well as skirts and dresses.

Almandite - digital knitting pattern - PDF
If you like to experiment with colors by knitting a sweater, and ordinary fading is not enough for you, it is also worth to try marling.
Marling is one of the easiest methods of colored knitting – all you have to do is connect two strands of yarn in different colors. However, if at the same time each one of the yarns is of a different fiber blend and structure, and you change every few rows to a new color, you can get a unique piece of knitwear with exclusive colors.
This is the method I used in the “Almandite” sweater.
“Almandite” is a classic and elegant open front cardigan knitted from the top to the bottom in one piece with two strands in different colors held together. To achieve smooth transitions and extraordinary colors, the strands are separated in the indicated places and replaced with new colors. An additional effect is added by an interesting textured pattern, complemented by a wide collar knitted in garter stitch.
Materials:
* Yarn A – Dye Dye Done Pure Merino (100% Merino): 100g/ 436 yards [400 meters] held together with yarn B – Dye Dye Done SilkyPaca (70% Superfine Alpaca, 30% Silk): 50g/ 218 yards [200 meters].

Walkham - digital knitting pattern - PDF
This unostentatiously elegant, but not overloaded cardigan is worked top down seamlessly by first knitting the back panel sideways and afterwards picking up stitches along both edges to create the back and then both fronts.
Stitches for the set-in sleeves are picked around the armhole after the body has been finished. Sleeves are then shaped with short rows and end in elegant cuffs wide enough to accommodate a blouse underneath. These cuffs, which repeat the lace pattern from the back panel, are worked sideways in a special technique so they are still seamless.
Stylish button bands with paired imitation stag-horn buttons on a stockinette stitch background are bordered by narrow cables that repeat at the sides of the sweater. A rolled stockinette stitch neckline tops off this versatile garment.

Softly - digital knitting pattern - PDF

Good Old Days - digital knitting pattern - PDF
When life gets really hectic, do you wish sometimes you could have lived in the “Good Old Days”?
We always have this romantic notion that everything seemed so simple back then when people would grow everything they needed, spin their own yarn and weave their own cloth to be hand stitched into one-of-a-kind garments, but actually, all was pretty labor-intensive work! When one had to gather plants and berries to dye their own handspun before weaving it into cloth, people wouldn’t allow anything to go to waste, not even the smallest fabric remnant.
Leftovers from cutting out a dress pattern would be stitched together to make something smaller but still useful, such as a neck kerchief.
This triangular shawl in four different subdued colors lets you look like “Good Old Days” – it’s knit from one corner to the widest part with stitches picked up along the edge and wedges knit on the side of the shawl, more stitches picked up along the top edge and a small Aster stitch border added at the end, resembling narrow strips of fabric stitched together.
While recreating the looks of the “Good Old Days”, you might want to still keep today’s conveniences, like circular needles and patterns you can use on your phone, though!

Sea Gems - digital knitting pattern - PDF
I already knew Miss Babs’ wonderful yarns from having designed Alpine Water Shawl for her in the past, but when I saw a beautiful gradient shawl online, I asked Miss Babs whether she ever custom-dyed gradient sets, and she replied she would be happy to develop a color set specially for me.
After we had talked about possible colors, I forwarded color samples found on Pinterest in my favorite purplish hues, which Miss Babs used for inspiration to develop a gem of a unique purple gradient set.
The colors and slip stitch pattern were perfect to show the beauty of Miss Babs' gradient set and reminded me of all the different colors and shapes of sea glass, hence the name: “Sea Gems”.
And this is how this asymmetrical triangle shawl came to life.
Materials:
* Miss Babs Yummy 2-Ply (100% Merino): 113g/ 400 yards [366 meters] and Miss Babs Yummy 2-Ply Toes (100% Merino): 37g/ 133 yards [122 meters].
7 colors: approx. 400 yards [366 meters] of Main Color (MC) and approx. 90 yards [85 meters] per each of 6 Contrasting Colors (CC1, CC2, CC3, CC4, CC5, CC6).
The sample is knit in colorways “Fleur de Sel” (MC), “Purple Urchin” (CC1), “Sea Urchin” (CC2), “Blue Mussel” (CC3), “Paua” (CC4), “Spiny” (CC5), and “Umi Tongue” (CC6).
Please note that you will need almost an entire skein of MC yarn to make this shawl. Check your gauge to make sure you will not run out of yarn.

Fino - digital knitting pattern - PDF
“Fino” is not your average top-down sweater!
Slightly boxy at the top and with short-row shaped overcast shoulders, this pullover in A-line silhouette has a closer fit around the bust while flaring out towards the bottom in a casual way, culminating in a most nonchalant asymmetric pleat.
The pleat as well as the sleeves are knit in reverse stockinette for extra texture, and accented seams add further points of visual interest at the sides.
If you thought that was about as far as a laid-back sweater can go, wait until you’ve spun it around and discovered the delicate lace panel on the back! Its intricate stitch pattern truly matches the finery of the wonderfully delicate yarn that gave this garment its name - casual elegance at its best!
